🕵️♀️ Limiting Beliefs Hide in Plain Sight
After last week’s show, you asked…“OK, but can you show me how to find limiting beliefs?!?!”
You know they are there. You can feel the constriction and contraction. You can sense the out-of-alignment feeling that’s pervading your life, BUT you don’t know why or how to shift things. You don’t have what you want. You don’t feel how you want. Something is off.
So you decide to blame yourself. You invent a thousand reasons for why things are how they are. And all signs point to YOU ARE THE PROBLEM.
That’s where limiting beliefs come in. They are there, hiding right in front of your eyes, masquerading as your identity. As the feeling of “Well, this is just how I am.” Inviting you to claim the victim mentality. To crumble under the pressure of not good enoughness, too muchness, or unworthiness.
You know that mean girl, drill sargent, or omniscient bitchy authority figure voice in your head that says…
“Yo, hold up. You can’t do that.,”
“You’re not ready.”
“LOL, who do you think you are?”
“You don’t have permission, skills, or charisma to pull that off”
“The universe only hands out miracles to other people”
“You are fundamentally flawed, damaged, and unlovable.”
And my personal favorite…
“There is something wrong with you.”
(AKA “I’m too fat. I’m too poor. And I’m dying.”🙄)
Yeah, so that’s not your higher self. That’s a sneaky trickster energy — a subconscious program running the show without your conscious permission.
The thing is though, it DOES have your unconscious permission. Your participation. Your agreement. Like those Terms and Conditions contracts we sign every time we download an app. There is stuff in there we don’t really know is happening.
This thought pattern holding you down has your full power of attorney because you are giving it over every time you agree that any of those things are true. It is there as your protector. Your body guard. Your security team. Making sure you stay stuck and still and small, because that is where you are most safe.
Even if you also happen to be M I S E R A B L E.
So how do you actually find these little squirmy chameleons masquerading as your own ideas and thoughts and beliefs?
🔍 Limiting Beliefs Look Like…
- The Instant “Nope” – You have a dream, a vision, or even a fun idea, and your brain immediately shuts it down with a flat and hard “NO.” No discussion. No curiosity. Just a cold, hard rejection from the subconscious bouncer at Club Spiritual Expansion. You’re not welcome here. No loitering mmmkay thanks byeeeeeeee.
- The “Maybe Later” Excuse – “I’ll start my daily practices when Mercury leaves retrograde,” or “I’ll share my wisdom when I have just one more certification.” These are just spiritual-sounding ways of saying, “I don’t feel worthy yet.”
- The “This is Just Who I Am” Story – If you’ve ever said, “I’ve always been bad with money,” or “Love just never works out for me…” Congratulations! You’ve spotted a limiting belief disguised as your identity. When you practice cutting yourself off by identifying with circumstances that are NOT YOU, that’s a limiting belief.
- Other People’s Voices in Your Head – If your inner monologue sounds suspiciously like your mother, your critical high school teacher, your skeptical ex, or that one guy at work who doesn’t get you, you might be carrying around limiting beliefs that aren’t even yours.
- Repetitive Negative Thoughts – If the same self-doubt, fear, or inner criticism keeps looping in your head like 24 hour cable news where everything is the worst, it’s not just a harmless thought—it’s a crazed belief running on autopilot. Watch it, question it, and change the channel.
- It’s Never Coming – Your manifestation IS here. You are always receiving what you are aligned with. What is a vibrational match to where you are and how you feel and what you think about yourself in this moment. If something hasn’t arrived yet, it’s because there’s something within you that’s still shifting, healing, and preparing to hold it.
🌀 How to Break Free
- Watch Your Thoughts – Next time a garbage, not true belief pops up, call it out. “Oh hey, ‘I’m not good enough’—NICE TRY. I see you.” Awareness and witnessing alone will weaken the belief’s foundation.
- Question EVERYTHING – Ask yourself, “Is this actually true? What would feel more benficial and loving?” Instead of “I can’t,” try “I totally can. I’m doing it right now!” Let your curiosity and inner child play with new possibilities. “What if ANYTHING can be true if you believe it?”
- Invite the Medicine Into Your Process – Psychedelic means “soul revealing.” This path will reveal how much of your reality is just a construct. It will lovingly shred whatever you are attached to that isn’t in full resonance with TRUTH. Your beliefs are no different. You can rewrite the stories and make them magical and beautiful and funny and exciting. You are the lead character in the movie of YOU. Be the hero of your own life. Everyone loves a good underdog story, right? 🤩
- Heal Where You Are Your current circumstances are inviting you to go deeper. To move whatever is in the way, so you can enjoy the beauty and abundance that is all around you. If you have a belief that you can only be happy when you have XYZ, that’s where the work is. We are creator beings, and we are here on a higher soul mission. We are here to grow and evolve and be humbled and transformed in the liberation of finding balance and emanating love regardless of circumstance. When you can find peace inside, the details of having and not having become irrelevant. You are illuminated from within. And that’s when everything arrives at your feet.
Your beliefs shape your reality. If you don’t like the program you’re running, update the code. Choose something else and practice it with all your heart.
Love,
Sinclair
