🌟Bridging the Afterglow to Transform Your Life

Maybe you’re approaching the medicine path the same way you’re doing life. Trying to fit it into your hectic schedule. Juggling kids, work, aging parents, health, money, and all the other adult responsibilities you have.

You want to make changes. To feel better. But it feels like there’s not enough time.

Our programming tells us it’s an opulent luxury to take time for yourself. Something out of reach. A pipe dream. You think you shouldn’t rest. You have to keep running the race. You have to keep producing and earning and consuming and buying more things. You’re not allowed to slow down.

So many come to the medicine in crisis. Overwhelmed. Stuck. Burned out. Scraping the bottom of your own barrel to keep giving more. Ignoring your own needs. Sacrificing for your family, your communities, your partnership.

And we wonder why we feel sick, sad, tired, anxious, and worried. Our bodies and hearts are screaming for softness, gentleness, and rest.

You know you need to carve out time for yourself. To take the sacred pause. But you feel guilty. So you rush. You don’t integrate. You procrastinate. You put off doing the small, consistent, everyday things that you need to feel good. For all the magic and medicine work you’re doing to land well.

And maybe it feels like your healing is not fully arriving because you need more space. More softness. More time. More attention.

Creating a soft landing for yourself requires planning and intention. It may require saving and sacrificing a bit so you can do something unorthodox (like going on a multiple day retreat in another place.)

It may require asking your partner or family for support so you can get the healing you need. It may mean believing you can go on a big juicy trip and making a lot of prayers to open the way and bring the money.

It might look like setting boundaries with yourself so you can anchor in new behaviors and habits. It might mean asking your job for flexibility, remote options, or time off. It may mean getting a lot more comfortable saying no to things that make you feel bad. And yes to what YOU want.

I am writing this week from the beautiful, lazy surf town of Ayampe on the Pacific coast of Ecuador. This is where I like to come to land well after doing intense medicine work in the cloud forest.

I come here for the healing softness of the ocean waves. The long walks on the beach. To eat lots of good ceviche. (And pastries, and iced coffees, and chocolate, and all the fruits…) To receive bodywork from Andrea at Mauli Spa. To visit other medicine communities like Ayllu Medicine to receive temazcal and let go just a little more.

To revel and rest in the slowness of beach life. To watch the sunset, to journal, to do yoga, sleep, laugh, play, hang out with all the crabs, and just enjoy life.

For me, prioritizing integration is a non-negotiable part of my medicine work. It is vital to carve out space to take care of myself in this way. Because integration is a necessity.

It is the most important part of the medicine path. Because without it, no matter how much time or money you spend going to retreats or ceremonies or doing journeys, eventually the magic will fade.

How we make a new path is by walking it. Integration is a way of life. Holistic, whole human healing invites it to stay and bloom.

You don’t have to spend weeks at the beach to learn how to land well from your medicine journeys. (Although I highly recommend it!) Everything you need is already within you – fully accessible, and costs nothing but time, energy, and attention. Landing well is highly personal. You get to decide what you need to allow the seeds of the medicine work you do to arrive and root into fertile soil.

Life IS the ceremony. It is the integration space. We can keep our responsibilities AND make time to land softly. We truly can have it all.

Here, in this afterglow, is where I learn to tend my own fire. It’s where I take sweet, loving care of myself. My body. My heart. And it’s where I watch my mind and old beliefs and habits creep back in. It’s where I learn to choose to be more myself…

I am also doing client sessions, booking our Resonance retreat, running my NEST group, creating content, podcasting, editing, and starting new projects. We can do both together.

🎙️ Landing Well: A Guide to Acute Integration

The Psychedelic Integration Podcast | EP 128 This week on the show, I’m sharing insights into managing acute integration – the crucial window after a plant medicine journey where wisdom is most alive and ready to be embodied. Here’s what you’ll learn:
