Winter. Is. Still HERE. Mars is still retrograde. So you’re not alone if you feel like it’s gone rachet out there. You might be feeling kind of low key terrified about Season 2 of our living reality show The Evil Nerd Billionaires Take America. There is so much to worry about, fret over, and stress about. It kind of feels like freaking out is our new full time side hustle where we get paid in adrenaline and insomnia and panic attacks and blizzards and catastrophic floods.
It’s like when you finally drive past that slowdown on the highway and see there’s been a horrific accident. You don’t want to look. You KNOW it’s not good to look. Is everyone okay?!? But you just can’t help but peek at the wreckage. You just want everyone to be okay.
I found myself doomscrolling the other night and came across a post that inspired this week’s show. Like a light coming on that illuminates an endless darkness.
While the original post is at least 5 years old, and erroneously attributed to a non-existent Hopi Chief named White Eagle, the message resonated in my heart. I don’t know who wrote this. But it found me when I was falling in the hole and helped pull me out. Maybe it can help pull you out too.
“This moment humanity is experiencing now can be seen as a door or a hole. The decision to fall into the hole or walk through the door is up to you. If you consume the news 24 hours a day, with negative energy, constantly nervous, with pessimism, then you will fall into that hole. But if you take the opportunity to look at yourself, to think about life and death, to care for yourself and others, then you will walk through the door.
Take care of your home, take care of your body. Connect with your spiritual home. When you take care of yourself, you are taking care of everyone at the same time.
Don’t underestimate the spiritual dimension of this crisis. Take the perspective of an eagle, seeing everything from above with a wider view. There is a social issue in this crisis, but there is also a spiritual issue. The two go hand in hand. Without the social dimension, we fall into fanaticism. Without the spiritual dimension, we fall into pessimism and meaninglessness.
You are ready to master this crisis. Grab your toolbox and use all the tools available to you. Learn resistance from the example of the Indian and African people: We were and still are being wiped out. But we have never stopped singing, dancing, lighting fires and being happy.
Don’t feel guilty for feeling happy in these difficult times. Being sad or angry doesn’t help at all. Resistance is resistance through joy! You have every right to be strong and positive. And there is no other way to do this than to adopt a beautiful, joyful and radiant attitude. This has nothing to do with alienation (ignorance of the world). It’s a strategy of resistance. When we walk through the door, we have a new worldview, because we have faced our fears and hardships. That’s all you can do now: – Be calm in the storm – Stay calm, pray daily – Make it a habit to encounter the sacred every day. -Show resistance through art, joy, trust and love.
We have a choice. We can fall in the abyss of despair, hopelessness, and pessimism. Or we can rise into a new worldview. Walk through the portal of fear and chaos into a new way of being and feeling and showing up.
The plant medicine path has arrived to prepare us to be more resilient. To gather our power back to us. To do the work that is right here in front of us. The work of getting everything out of the way that doesn’t vibrate in love and beauty and hope.
Because it is our right and our responsibility to be joyful. To protect the vibration of innocence and purity and optimism. Of positivity and vision. What heals the world is choosing love over fear. Believing that you have the capacity to turn and face any storm, look it dead in the eye, and walk right into it.
Because we are that strong, and LOVE is that big. I don’t have all the answers. I don’t know what the future will bring. But I do have a drum. And a sacred fire. And the ability to gather the family and make prayers and pray for the water and the land and this Earth. I have trust in the divine unfolding of life. I have breath in my lungs and a smile in my heart. I have this space. I have this show. And I will not be one of the ones fleeing.
I’m not going anywhere. The medicine path trains us to face our own demons. To look fear in the eyes and remain willing to go find out what’s on the other side. We are spirit warriors of the light. We will not be stopped.
And neither will you. Let’s sing and be in joy. Because JOY IS RESISTANCE.
Art is resistance. Making love is resistance. Singing is resistance. Loving is resistance. Dance is resistance. Friendship is resistance. Connection is resistance. Plant medicine is resistance. Integration is resistance. Health is resistance. Wellness is resistance. Reading books is resistance. Writing is resistance. Living in your spiritual wellness is resistance.
Take care of yourself. Choose the door of transformation.
Love,
Sinclair
