I’ve been home from Ecuador for a few days and am finding myself in awe. I had the immense privilege of traveling to one of my favorite places, spending weeks immersed in medicine, movement, nature, community, connection, and a completely different culture. I slowed down. Put down my phone. Stopped scrolling and distracting and worrying, just for a little while. I was present.
So when I walked into my apartment after weeks away and two full days of travel to get home, I felt overwhelmed with appreciation and gratitude. I felt WEALTHY. The kind of wealthy where you are brimming with love and peace and hope and relief and time and space and thankfulness.
Nothing changed at home while I was away. I didn’t suddenly get rich overnight or stop living paycheck to paycheck (or client to client in my case.) I didn’t come home to some extravagant palace full of new and expensive things. I didn’t find a new car waiting for me instead of my 15 year old one.
True wealth isn’t about money. Don’t get me wrong, money is nice. Money is energy and it’s great (and vital and important) to have enough of it to take good care of yourself. There’s nothing wrong with money. I love money. Yay money!
AND, I remembered something on this trip… The pursuit of more – more money, more resources, more new things, more trinkets, more healing modalities, more answers, more information, more stimulation, more clients, more food, a nicer car, better quality XYZ, more, more, more, more… feels like an abyss of emptiness that can and will never be filled.
Spirituality isn’t a contest that you can win by reading the most self-help books or going to the most sound healings or retreats.
There is no outside thing, whether it’s a car or a house or a relationship or a job or healing path that can fill the void in your heart. There is only one thing that can fill it…
Realizing it’s not empty.
That you are and always have been complete and perfect and lovable. That there was never any mistake. That you are whole and sacred and Spirit is alive in everything and everyone.
I came back home to find beauty and color and richness and comfort because I could see. I opened my closet and felt overwhelmed with gratitude for all the lovely things I get to wear. I flopped on my bed and rolled around on my soft sheets and sighed in happiness and contentment looking at my healthy, beautiful plants.
Nothing had changed. I changed. I got my vision back. I got my gratitude and wonder and presence back. I remembered my ability to enjoy simplicity. To take exquisite, childlike delight in all the magic that is around me. I have never been more excited in my life to find a dishwasher and cabinets full of sharp knives and cutting boards and ALL THE PLATES.
My secondhand furniture and hand-me-down, eclectic. artsy home feels like love and softness and safety. It feels like love. It feels ABUNDANT.
I feel so grateful for this home. For this life. For the beautiful friendships and client relationships and partnership that I get to co-create with amazing humans.
Wow, we have so much. And so much of it we take for granted. And we have so much that we don’t need.
We aren’t lacking. We are buried.
In choices and things and looking for things to make us feel worthy and safe. We are blasting ourselves with constant sound and light and noise and information so that nothing has the chance to rise from inside and make us feel bad.
Because we don’t have the capacity to feel and hold and go without.
We are sedated and numb. Because of course we are. The system is designed to make sure of it. We aren’t depressed and anxious, we are drowning. We are having NORMAL reactions to a society that has forgotten its purpose.
BEING.
We are here to BE. To enjoy. To frolic and revel and have fun and create and make love and pay attention to what’s right in front of us. To give less fucks. To stop waterboarding ourselves with the narratives of collapse and destruction and despair, and decide to listen to the silence instead.
So the medicine helps us find our way back to simplicity. It asks us to remove, release, let go. The messages are simple. The complexity is an illusion we create when we are not ready for the truth. The truth is always deep and simple and clear.
The medicine isn’t giving us visions of some better world, where we are idealized versions of ourselves. It’s a mirror, showing us how to SEE what is already here. Beginning with what’s inside us. The freedom we seek lives in the space we’re afraid to create.
🎙️ The Answer is Less

Give less fucks, learn to appreciate what is right in front of you, and release the stuff and striving that’s holding you back. Come home to the liberation of simplicity and gratitude.
In this episode you’ll learn:
- Why “healing overload” is the new spiritual bypassing—and how the medicines expose our addiction to complexity
- The lies consumerism tells our nervous systems—scarcity, not-enoughness, and the false religion of productivity
- The art of deprogramming with medicines—clarity emerges through subtraction, not accumulation
- The courage of empty hands—what can you let go of to find liberation?
