Are you afraid of your anger?
What is the healing power of sacred rage? Anger is the misunderstood arsonist teenager who roams inside each of us wreaking havoc and setting fires. This inner rebel is simultaneously the protector, the vigilante, the protestor, and Ultimate Fighting Champion. It’s hot, impulsive, and feels so dangerous.
When anger is around, so is judgment. Of others, and especially ourselves. We think anger isn’t spiritual. It’s low vibe and means we haven’t gotten very far on our journey. We’re supposed to be better than this by now, right?!?
If anything, our rage is a sacred and holy messenger. An ally. A burly partner with a lot of metaphorical weapons. It is righteous and beautiful and necessary and NORMAL.
4 Easy Steps to Engage with Anger (And turn it into your teacher and ally):
- Acknowledge it. Let it be valid. Anger is not bad, it’s just big energy.
- Feel it somatically. Pause. Breathe. Move with it. Allow it to be there and to be kinetic inside you. Doing this lets your nervous system know that anger is safe to feel.
- Let it teach you. Ask, “What are you protecting me from? What truth is trying to emerge? What boundaries do I need to enact here?”
- Channel it consciously. Anger doesn’t need to be released AT people or things. It can instead be channeled into boundaries, healing conversations, and as fuel for creative projects and transformation.
Anger is the messenger letting you know that SOMETHING IS RISING TO BE HEALED. Plant medicine can be the bridge to accessing repressed anger and learning to relate with it in an empowered way. Where it is your teacher instead of your enemy.
👣 Integration is how you walk with and transform the sacred rage you find inside.
